Now Enrolling: Our Founding Class Starting August 2026

A school built for curious thinkers.
Through project-based learning rooted in real-world ideas, students at Projectory School learn how to lead their own learning journeys.
The name Projectory reflects our belief that children learn through meaningful projects that move their thinking forward.
We believe that even the youngest learners are full of vision, and we’re here to help them aim high.

Bold Beginnings
Projectory School is a non-profit, private elementary school in Richmond, Virginia built around project-based learning. We serve children who ask big questions and want to understand how the world works.
Here, students don’t memorize information. They investigate real problems, collaborate with peers, build original work, and present their thinking with confidence.
At the same time, foundational skills matter. Students build strong reading, writing, and math skills every day through targeted small-group instruction and hands-on application within meaningful projects.
This is purposeful, rigorous learning designed to help children build both strong academic skills and the ability to use them in the real world.
Momentum
Students are always moving forward, developing their love of learning.
Inquiry
Questions are just as important as answers.
Direction
Children learn how to plan, iterate, and lead their own learning journeys.
Creation
Learning is active: kids make things that matter.

Our classrooms are built around curiosity, creativity, and connection. At Projectory School, a project isn’t the end of learning, it’s the beginning. Everything starts with a big question. One that doesn’t have a simple answer. From there, students dive into research, reading, writing, math, and problem-solving, not as separate subjects, but as tools they need to make sense of the question.
Instead of teaching math at 9 a.m. and science at 10 a.m., learning unfolds naturally as students:
• Read to answer questions they actually care about
• Write signs, labels, stories, or persuasive letters connected to their work
• Measure and count while building, designing, and experimenting
• Try ideas, make mistakes, and try again (a lot)
• Share their work with classmates, families, and the community
The project grows as their understanding grows, eventually leading to something real they can create, present, or solve. Not as a final activity, but as the result of deep thinking and learning.
Children don’t just learn subjects.
They learn how ideas fit together.
Learning that Connects

Elementary, Reimagined
For children who ask big questions and learn by doing.
Projectory’s founding class is designed for children ages 5 to 7 who thrive when learning feels meaningful, engaging, and connected to the real world.
Through interdisciplinary projects, students develop strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and the arts while exploring questions that matter to them. They ask, investigate, create, revise, and share their thinking with others. Along the way, they build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Enrollment is now open for Fall 2026. Limited spots available.
Projectory will grow one year at a time, expanding into a full K–5 program as our founding students grow.
